What is Pursukoon?
Pursukoon is the home of SehatYab's free self-help tools, for anyone who is not ready for paid therapy or medication yet. It brings together a free listening session with a trained listener, free private self-assessments, free articles, and free daily content on our social channels. When you are ready for treatment, SehatYab's one-to-one consultations are there for you.

What is a listening session?
A private, approximately 30-minute conversation with a trained listener who has a background in psychology, in Urdu or English. It is a space to talk and feel heard when you need someone to listen, without judgment. It is emotional support and active listening, not clinical treatment.
Do I need an access code for a listening session?
Yes, a listening session opens with an access code. Codes are shared through our partner universities and organizations, and also with the public through SehatYab's own channels, so follow us on social or message us to request one. The self-assessments, articles and social content remain open to everyone without any code.
Who are the Pursukoon listeners?
Pursukoon is currently supported by SehatYab clinical psychologists Aqsa Maryam and Maryam Bint e Habib. They have backgrounds in psychology and experience supporting people with concerns including anxiety, low mood, stress, relationships, trauma and other emotional or behavioural difficulties.
What can I talk about with a listener?
You can talk about whatever is weighing on you, including stress, loneliness, family pressure, relationship concerns, sadness, anxiety, difficult experiences, or simply feeling overwhelmed. You do not need a diagnosis or a major crisis to reach out.
Can I speak in Urdu?
Yes. Listening sessions are available in Urdu or English, so you can use the language in which you feel most comfortable expressing yourself. The articles and social content are also in both Urdu and English.
Are the self-assessments a diagnosis?
No. The self-assessments are free screening tools for guidance only. They can help you understand what you may be experiencing and point you toward the type of support that may suit you, but they are not a clinical diagnosis.
Is Pursukoon confidential?
Privacy is central to the service. A listening session is designed as a private space for you to talk openly. However, it is not an emergency service, and situations involving immediate danger or serious safety concerns require urgent help from appropriate emergency services.
What if I need a psychologist instead of just someone to listen?
That is completely okay. SehatYab has qualified clinical psychologists who provide structured therapy and counseling for concerns such as anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, OCD, relationships and more. Your listener can help you understand when a clinical consultation may be more appropriate.
What if I think I need medication?
Medication can only be assessed and prescribed when clinically appropriate by a psychiatrist. SehatYab has PMDC-licensed psychiatrists who can assess your concerns and advise whether medication, therapy, or a combination may be appropriate.
Can I book a SehatYab psychologist directly?
Yes. You can browse SehatYab's clinical psychologists, review their experience, areas of focus, languages and fees, and book an online consultation by audio or video.
Does SehatYab help children and teenagers?
Yes. SehatYab has clinicians who work with children and adolescents for concerns including emotional and behavioural difficulties, anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, learning difficulties and parenting concerns.
Is SehatYab a registered clinic?
Yes. SehatYab operates under Huda Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. and is registered with the Punjab Healthcare Commission. Psychiatrists are PMDC-licensed and clinical psychologists are qualified and verified through SehatYab's clinician onboarding process.
Can I consult SehatYab from outside Pakistan?
Yes. SehatYab provides online consultations to people in Pakistan and overseas, including overseas Pakistanis. Sessions are available online in Urdu and English, with an international panel available where appropriate.
Is Pursukoon an emergency service?
No. Pursukoon is not an emergency service. If you are in immediate danger, at risk of harming yourself or someone else, or facing another emergency, contact your nearest emergency facility or Rescue 1122 immediately.
