About Our Approach

Evidence-Based Therapy for Real Relationships

Relationships are one of the most meaningful — and most challenging — aspects of human life. When couples face persistent conflict, emotional distance, or communication breakdown, it can feel overwhelming. Our professional couple counselling services provide a structured, compassionate space for both partners to be heard, understood, and supported.
Drawing on evidence-based therapeutic models including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for couples, and the Gottman Method, our therapists help you identify the patterns driving disconnection and replace them with healthier, more fulfilling ways of relating to each other.
Whether you are navigating early communication difficulties or significant relationship distress, our tiered therapy packages offer a clear, measurable path forward — tailored to where you are right now.

Is Counselling Right for You?

Signs Your Relationship May Benefit from Professional Support

Many couples wait too long before seeking help, often hoping difficulties will resolve on their own. Research consistently shows that the earlier couples engage with therapy, the better the outcomes. If you recognise any of the following signs, our counselling packages can provide the structured support you need.

Evidence-Based Therapeutic Approaches

Our therapists are trained in multiple evidence-based modalities, allowing them to tailor sessions to your specific relationship dynamics and goals.
Understanding Your Anxiety
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
EFT is one of the most extensively researched couple therapy models. It focuses on identifying and transforming negative emotional patterns and attachment insecurities that drive conflict and disconnection.
Identifying Your Triggers
Gottman Method
Based on decades of research with couples, the Gottman Method builds friendship, manages conflict, and creates shared meaning — helping couples replace destructive patterns with healthier interactions.
Challenging Unhelpful Thoughts
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Couples
CBT for couples helps partners identify unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours that fuel conflict, and replace them with more constructive ways of thinking and relating.
Managing Physical Symptoms
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy
This forward-looking approach focuses on building solutions rather than dwelling on problems, helping couples identify strengths and develop practical strategies quickly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions about our couple counselling services? We have answered the most common ones below.

How do I know which therapy package is right for us?

During your initial enquiry, our therapist will have a brief conversation with you to understand your situation. We will then recommend the most appropriate package based on the nature and duration of your relationship difficulties. You can also review the ‘Best For’ section of each package as a guide.

Do both partners need to attend every session?

Yes — couple counselling is designed to be attended by both partners together. Occasionally, individual sessions may be recommended as a supplement, but joint attendance is essential for the structured process to work effectively.

What if our situation changes during the package?

Flexibility is built into our approach. If your needs evolve during a package — for example, if a 4-session package feels insufficient — your therapist will discuss the option of transitioning to a longer programme.

Is couple counselling confidential?

Absolutely. Everything discussed in sessions is strictly confidential. There are very limited exceptions to this (such as risk of serious harm), which your therapist will explain clearly at the outset.

Can we attend sessions online?

Yes. We offer both in-person and online (video) sessions to accommodate different schedules and locations. Online sessions are delivered via a secure, encrypted platform.

What is the Relationship Assessment Scale (RAS)?

The Relationship Assessment Scale is a validated, brief questionnaire that measures relationship satisfaction. It is completed by both partners at the start of each package and again at key intervals to objectively track progress.

What if one partner is reluctant to attend?

It is common for one partner to be more hesitant than the other. We encourage the more motivated partner to attend an initial individual consultation, which can help address concerns and explore how to gently encourage joint participation.

How long between sessions?

Sessions are typically scheduled weekly or fortnightly, depending on your availability and the pace that feels most productive. Your therapist will discuss session frequency with you at the outset.
